I am terribly pissed off.
I just got back (and no, it isn't from a bout of partying). I just got back. From work. Yes. %@#$&!^@*#!&@(#&!@#(!&%@#&!@#. What day is it? What time is it? 2 bloody 30 in the morning on the 1st of May. Labour Day. Yea, right. I bloody laboured the whole day up until Labour Day. What else? Oh. Today, no wait, it is already past midnight, so, yesterday was supposed to be my last day at work too. So what the hell was I doing at work till 2 bloody am?! I have absolutely no freaking idea. A total waste of time if you ask me. They want me to check copy and sign off on the artworks before they go out but hello, they seemed to have forgotten one huge point. What the freaking hell am I supposed to check when the copy has been changed kazillion times without my knowledge (you have the client playing copywriter and all)?! Oh, and then you have servicing running to you to ask you to come up with copy for something the client wants to add, which of course the client has already 'written' but wants me to phrase it in a better way. So I do. But when I look at what they put on the artwork, it's the client's copy. Why even bother to ask for my 'help' when you're going to bloody disregard it and use the client's copy instead? Geesh.
*rolls eyes*
Anyway, I packed my bags and just left. The artworks aren't ready yet but it's no longer any concern of mine. Like I told them, since I didn't write 3/4 of the copy (changes after changes after changes, written of course, by the clients themselves), I shouldn't be signing off on the artwork. After all, I have absolutely no clue what the new copy are and what changes have been made, because they never bothered to inform the copywriter.
On a brighter note, I went on a DVD/VCD shopping spree during lunch today. Bought Hot Chick, Chicago, Spirited Away, So Close and taa daa (!) Buffy Season 1 DVD Set! Okay, me bad for encouraging piracy and buying pirated copies, but heck, when the quality's as good as the original at only 1/4 of the price, economics win over ethics. Looks like I'll be pretty busy vege-ing in front of the TV the next couple of days
*grin*.
It's a public holiday tomorrow (oops, today) and I'm off work until something else comes along. Yay! So going to go shopping on Friday. Got to get blank VHS tapes to prepare for Buffy Season 6 which starts on May 8! And I feel like chopping off my hair too. I'm losing way too much and have this phobia that I might become bald (I look awful bald). Thing is, I don't know if I'm losing hair because of this condition I have or because it's just long and heavy. Sigh. Haven't decided. Can't decide.
To borrow a line from Mel Hamlet: to cut or not to cut, that is the question.
