I am jealous. Very very very jealous.

It was a frentic morning.
HKticketing.com really sucks.
Kept crashing the whole time.
Wrote them a nasty complaint e-mail.

I mean, get with the news, fellas.
HOCC is HOT and EXTREMELY POPULAR and has a FANATICAL FAN BASE!

Anyway, the good news is...
YES! I managed to get tickets after all.

But I had to rely on someone in HK to do it. She sacrificed her lunch break to go queue for me. I owe her BIGGGGG time.

So, tickets, yea.

I'm going for the 8pm performance on 18th September. Woohoo!

Now I have to book my airticket and accommodation. And maybe while I'm there, I'll give Disneyland a visit as well.

Woohoo!! (again)
Somebody just kill me now.
I've just spent all morning trying to buy tickets to the hocc musical.
It's absolutely impossible!
The freaking web ticketing keeps going offline, the telephone booking hotline is like forever engaged!
DAMN!

I could just die right now.

Just came back from karaoke. Watched one of Anita Mui's concert MVs just now - her last concert before she passed away, the song: 似水流年.

Her resilience amazes me. I mean, there she was, to say crudely, dying, and yet she was determined to give one last concert. Her dedication to her 'calling' was so strong that she dug deep for that last breath, for one more performance before her fans. You can't help but feel a little tug at the heartstrings while watching that MV, and you can't help but admire her for her strength.

She was a true performer and public person till the very end.

I wonder if it was me who was dying, would I do such a thing? Of course, even if I held a concert, no one would come watch me. Hahaha. No, what I mean is, would I hold such dear my beliefs that no matter how weak or how bleak the chances of my survival that I would go all out and give one last shot at making something worthwhile of my life?

Have just finished reading Matt Beaumont's latest novel, 'Staying Alive', about an advertising executive who finds out he has cancer and only a few more months to live. He decides to transform his mundane, safe life totally around and starts doing things he normally wouldn't. Of course, like all novels, it does get a bit incredible and incredulous.

But what if I was told I only had a couple of months more to live?

Would I go rob a bank? Would I start taking drugs? Would I have one night stands every night? After all, what do I have to lose? Or would I choose to continue to play it safe, to play within the rules of humankind? Do I choose to go out like how Anita Mui did - with a big bang - with the world knowing her strength and admiring her for it? Or would I choose to wallow in self pity and end my life before my months are up by jumping off the balcony of a high-rise building?

I think I'd go on a major shopping spree.

Latest wallpaper.

HOCC is back on my desktop - as long as she carries a guitar and looks cool. Hahaha.

Got number finally.
Also learned a few new things about W.O.D.
Also met her other half and dog.
All in all, a pretty eventful weekend.

It's Friday and I still haven't gotten her phone number.

Maybe subconsciously I'm trying to avoid getting her number 'cos once I get it, the 'challenge' seems to be over (although there's a helluva bigger challenge after that!) My attention span isn't something to shout about. I tend to lose interest rather quickly, so maybe this taking such a long, long time is a good thing after all as I'm still hell-bent on wanting to get her number.

Hey, I only want to be her best friend.

Yea, right.

OK, so Kate and Meg aren't related. They could well be...oh well.

W.O.D wasn't on air again today. What's going on? She looked fine when I bumped into her yesterday. Quite a coincidence, really. Must be fate. Now if only fate could do a bit more. Hahahaha.

I'm still having a shitty time at work and it gets worse and worse each day. I'm just holding out for the remainder of the bonus they owe me from LAST year and I'm outta there. It's supposed to be paid end of July. I haven't gotten anything lined up after I throw in my resignation. I figured I have 3 months to look for something (cos that's how long my notice is - yes, it's really shitty). Failing which, I'll probably go back to freelancing.

Can't really help being pessimistic. Though it's all just about work only. Work sucks. I really need to get out of this shit hole.

Come to think of it, places become shit holes after a while...is it just me or is it how it works? Or do I tire of a place and lose patience after a certain timeframe? I can't imagine how my aunt could stay in the same job in the same place for over 30 years till the day she retired. Quite amazing. I think the longest I've ever stayed in one company is 4 years, and i consider that a really, really long time.

Why, oh why do we have to work?

Haven't done shit all day except look at beautiful women. Hahaha.

Been catching up on America's Next Top Model S4 and am totally smitten by one of the contestants: Kahlen Rondot.

Sooooo cute, she is. Her dimples, her tendency to blush beetroot red, her funny facial expressions...she reminds me of Meg Ryan.

And when I think of Meg Ryan, I think of Katherine Moennig...

Check this out:

Kahlen Rondot

Meg Ryan

Katherine Moennig

Katherine and Meg are related (cousins I think). Kahlen could well be related too!
I joined on my own and paid in full.

Yea, partner decided she wasn't prepared to pay for another membership on top of her gym membership. Whatever. I expected it anyway.

Good thing is I managed to find someone else to share the package with me. Made the yoga centre agree to letting me still split the package with someone else if I paid the full amount yesterday. Cool.

Saw W.O.D last night as I was on my way to the centre. Nearly missed her - until she called out to me. She called out to me! Hahaha! Thrilled to the bone.

Partner couldn't make it for the class today, so I went and observed on my own. I found it more like the previous one we were used to, then again I'm already sold on wanting to join. Hopefully when my partner comes to observe tomorrow and the day after, she will find them to her liking. The deal on the package still stands till Thursday. Nothing I can do except keep my fingers crossed. Meanwhile, I've also been calling some friends to ask if they want to join - in case partner decides otherwise, then I'll have someone to join with me...

W.O.D was sick today. Didn't hear her this morning on the air. Poor baby - get well soon.

Monday, July 04, 2005

An 80% chance of joining has now diminished to 20%.

I can understand where my partner is coming from, really. If the instructor isn't thorough enough in making sure you're in the right pose and stretching the right muscles, what difference is it from the ones that come in and out at the gym? Why should we pay close to RM700 for something when if you're already a gym member, you get it for free?

The instructor blew it today. There were only about 5-6 of us in the class and it was obvious that most of us were not getting the poses right. Yet she didn't even bother to come round to correct us.

My partner was not impressed. I could tell she was ready to pull out of the deal and not sign up for the package.

I, on the other hand, with ulterior motives in mind, tried to convince her otherwise: maybe it's the instructor, there's another class tomorrow with a different instructor, let's observe that one and decide after, what we know from before is a different discipline of yoga, what we're doing now is more aerobic and power with less emphasis on holding poses etc.

I have to admit we were 'spoilt' by our previous instructor. She was one dedicated woman who took the trouble to make sure our poses were all right before moving to another. Of course, that was a much slower form of yoga.

See, I'm making excuses again.

Yes, I do want to join this centre (there are ulterior motives!)

Anyway, I managed to convince my partner to go and observe another class with a different instructor tomorrow night. I just hope the one tomorrow is a lot better than the one tonight. I am totally keeping my fingers crossed. If tomorrow bombs as well, there's absolutely no way my partner is going to sign up, which means if I do sign up without her, I'll have to pay a lot, lot more money (because the deal was for if the two of us signed up), and I have to be disciplined enough to go on my own (of course, the ulterior motive does motivate a bit but it's a lot easier when you have someone you know in the same class).

Sigh. I can't help but be a little pissed off with my partner. But I can't blame her. She's already paying for gym membership which gives free yoga classes. She just wanted a class with proper instruction cos she found the gym ones too blase. Sigh.

Do I join without my partner if she pulls out? It's a hefty extra RM200 for the package if I join as an individual. And going alone takes more willpower. I guess if I'm forced to pay that much money, I'd try to make it a point to go...

Damn. Tomorrow's instructor better be good so that my partner will change her mind!
